This year we held the event on Tuesday October 27, 2015 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm the the GLHS Cafeteria.
Over 75 students attend.
The rules were simple:
- Students had an hour and a half to decorate their pumpkins and decorate pumpkins.
- No cutting or carving (because of fruit flies). Pumpkins could be painted or colored with markers.
- Students could work alone or with in a group.
At 8:00 pm all pumpkins were voted on by the participants. The top 10 pumpkins were selected and then put on display during lunch on Wednesday and Thursday at which time students and faculty could vote for their favorite pumpkin.
In addition to the top 10 finalists the other pumpkins were put on display in the main cafeteria.
On Friday morning the voting was concluded and the top two winners were announced.
1st place and 2nd place received gift cards to Dunkin Donuts.
On Friday afternoon students had the choice to bring their pumpkins home or donate them to their peers and faculty to make pumpkin pies and or harvest the pumpkin seeds.
